August’s sun-drenched days get me
thinking about chocolate. Cocoa-
color foliage and flowers add
late-summer drama to beds and pots.
In addition, many of these plants
have a cocoa scent, such as chocolate
cosmos,
rig h t,
chocolate-scented
geranium

and
chocolate daisy

This sultry-end of the color
spectrum calls for contrast; choose
bright companions, such as creamy
white, pink, silvery, and chartreuse
